4 Ways to Achieve the Golden Oscar in You

It’s that “golden” time of the year again and I am struck with the thought that as the actors are trying to achieve the golden Oscar, I am on the path to my own kind of gold as well.  I currently am on a quest to become a Gold Director in my business with USANA Health Sciences and am finding it a “stretch” to get there.  As a traditional worker who has always relied on working for a boss and receiving the security of benefits and a paycheck, being in charge of my own destiny is a challenge for me.  I often describe it as liberating, exciting, fun and creative, but also as frightening, feeling like a novice and not knowing how to be successful, wondering when and where my income will come from, and being on a perpetual roller coaster ride.

So why would I put myself through this? Because as a Boomer, my intention is to keep on keeping on and continue serving the world in whatever way I can express my gifts.  And when opportunities appear, I take advantage of them and follow that path to see where it leads.  So whatever path you find yourself … → Read More: 4 Ways to Achieve the Golden Oscar in You

7 Ways to Get a Better Techno-Grade in the New Year

Today was the big day that I have been dreading — but when I saw the ad on TV this morning for the smart phone I’ve been desiring – and it was $100 off, had a free blue tooth attachment, had a discount for turning in my old phone and a 10% discount on the monthly payment, I jumped into action.  Yes it is 6 days till Christmas and yes there are deals to be had, but when this one popped up on my news show this morning I jumped in the car and sped to the store to do the deal before they ran out of phones.  Yes, there had been a line at 8AM of people who had seen the same ad and now it was 10AM!  But I made it in time.

It’s not like this was an impulsive thing – I’ve only been limping along with my regular cell phone for 2 years past the usual time for a free upgrade.  My phone has been so bad that I’ve had to plug it into the wall or car continually just to hold a charge long enough to make a call.  And the real reason for my … → Read More: 7 Ways to Get a Better Techno-Grade in the New Year

Coaching — The Perfect Work for Retiring Boomers Who Like to Help People

I have been lucky enough to discover “life coaching” both as a client and now as a coach and coach trainer.  And what I really love about it — as a person who loves to help people and wants to keep working productively until I drop — is I can do it easily and effortlessly at home and whenever I choose.  Doesn’t get any better than that!  And I get paid to do it.

Here’s why you might want to consider doing this too.  Look around — unhealthy lifestyles abound and many are searching for help with:

Staying on track with health goals Changing procrastination into action Exercising more regularly Eating healthier Losing weight Reducing stress levels Finding time to fit everything in And more!

If you are a professional already working with people on these issues, you may have noticed that telling them what to do hasn’t been working.  Just like it doesn’t work when someone tells you what to do!  Doesn’t feel  very  good  does it?

There is a better way.  Coaching communication skills work differently  with much better results.  I know this is true because I have  coached several  hundred professionals  over the past 6 years and they have made … → Read More: Coaching — The Perfect Work for Retiring Boomers Who Like to Help People
